Designing high-quality, inspiring educational institutions that produce a thinking, independent, and confident generation that is self-reliant and seamlessly keeps pace with the development of modern societies is one of the most important goals of education in the State of Qatar and is consistent with its National Vision 2030.
With the aim of enabling Qatari society to achieve sustainable development, the state is investing huge investments in the education sector, as the sector accounts for more than 22 billion riyals from the 2020 budget, equivalent to 10.5% of the total budget.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education supervises the educational system in the State of Qatar, as it works to build and expand basic education institutions, by providing schools and various educational alternatives that meet the individual needs of students and parents.

The educational ladder in Qatar is divided into two stages: from kindergarten to the twelfth level and the higher education stage.
From kindergarten to twelfth grade
This stage meets the various basic educational needs of students, and provides them with an advanced set of options and specializations that are in line with their individual needs. At this stage, more than 196,000 male and female students study in more than 208 government schools, while nearly 200,000 male and female students study in more than 310 private schools.
Higher Education
Colleges and universities in the State of Qatar are open to all nationalities, as they attract students from all over the world due to the quality of educational programs and curricula. Qatar University is considered the national university, in addition to the presence of about 27 universities and colleges that represent branches of international higher education institutions.
