Doha British Schools are a cluster of outstanding schools that provide a British educational provision for over 3000 students in Qatar.

Doha British School Ain Khaled, was founded in 1997 and is a private co-educational day school for students from Foundation Stage to Year 13, offering the National Curriculum of England and the IB programme. Students follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage, the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and at Key Stage 4 a comprehensive range of IGCSE courses. At Post-16 the school is the only school in Qatar to offer 4 different pathways for our Post 16 provision, which include AS, A level, BTEC and the IB Diploma programme.

Doha British Schools has continuously expanded its educational offerings, driven by its exceptional reputation. This growth journey began with the establishment of the Al Wakra campus in 2014 and further expanded with the opening of the Rawdat Al Hamama campus in 2022, which offers outstanding education for students.

With even greater ambitions on the horizon, we are thrilled to announce that the Al Wakra campus has relocated to its new and improved location for the academic year in September 2024. This new campus has been meticulously designed to meet the highest standards of modern educational infrastructure. The campus boasts expansive open spaces and a vibrant layout, fostering an environment that encourages innovation, creativity, and critical thinking. Cultural diversity is celebrated and currently the student body compromises approximately 90 different nationalities. The school has full accreditation from CIS, BSME, BSO and QNSA and almost all of our teachers are UK graduates and PGCE qualified.

We are seeking passionate and dedicated educators who are committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences, and who will contribute to a collaborative and supportive school culture defined by respect, professionalism, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Successful applicants must have:  

  • An educational degree, such as Bachelor’s in Education Degree or related field.
  • A certified teaching qualification such PGCE, QTS with an Induction Certificate or equivalent (the PGCE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree)
  • Minimum two years of teaching experience (international experience is an advantage but not required)
  • Exceptional subject knowledge, with extensive experience of teaching the British National Curriculum in Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 preferably).
  • A passion for fostering a student-centered learning environment.
  • A commitment to professional growth and a collaborative approach to teaching.  
  • A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.    
  • A willingness to take part in extracurricular activities after school.

Skills:

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
    • Certified teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) with a relevant subject degree.
  2. Teaching Experience:
    • Minimum of two years of teaching experience, with international experience as a plus.
  3. Subject Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of the British National Curriculum, particularly for Key Stages 3 and 4 (and preferably Key Stage 5).
  4. Student-Centered Approach:
    • Passion for creating a learning environment that focuses on student engagement and success.
  5. Commitment to Professional Development:
    • A willingness to grow professionally and collaborate with colleagues.
  6. Proven Teaching Effectiveness:
    • Track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning experiences.
