The scope of a specialist’s tasks can vary greatly depending on the specialty and industry in which he works, but there are some general tasks that a specialist may perform, including:

Evaluation and diagnosis: The specialist evaluates the patient’s condition or the specific problem using his specialized skills and appropriate tools in his specialization.

Treatment or management: The specialist works to apply the treatment or develop a treatment plan appropriate to the patient’s condition, monitors the progress of treatment and makes the necessary adjustments if necessary.

Providing consultations and guidance: A specialist can provide consultations and guidance to patients or clients regarding health behaviors, or professional advice in his specialized field.

Scientific research: A specialist can participate in scientific research in his specialized field, and contribute to developing knowledge and improving current practices.
