Qatar Academy is the name given to a group of independent schools located across Qatar. Owned and run by the Qatar Foundation, the schools are part of the International Baccalaureate World Schools Programme, and as such offer a wide range of qualifications for students to study for. The school offers Primary and Middle Years International Baccalaureate programmes, providing a diverse and far-reaching range of subjects for younger students supported by an extensive range of modern recreational and academic facilities, including auditoriums, music studios, creative arts areas, and modern technological and craft workshops. Older students work towards the International Baccalaureate Diploma, an internationally-recognised qualification accepted by a huge number of global universities. ECHS serves students from Gr. 9-12 and offers multiple pathways to higher education through the IBDP, IBCP and AP programs. We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic Design Teacher to join our collaborative and vibrant teaching team starting in August 2025.
The successful candidate for this position will be willing to be part of a collaborative team who leverages subject expertise, values kindness, builds strong relationships and demonstrates respect and integrity.
-Coordinate with department colleagues to plan and deliver a program of study designed to teach the curricular standards while meeting the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the student, for the enhancement of student learning.
-Conduct engaging, well-planned and well-paced classes, using a variety of instructional techniques, differentiation strategies, and technology appropriate to the lesson and the needs and capabilities of the students.
-Work in partnership with parents in providing a quality education experience for young adults.
-Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons according to QF Policy and regulatory requirements.
-Be a lifelong learner who is willing to be innovative to help our school continuously improve.
Qualifications & Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in education-related field or relevant subject matter.
-Minimum 2 years teaching experience teaching in the IB Diploma Programme or Advanced Placement Program
– Must have attested teaching certification or PGCE equivalent credentials
-Teaching Certification / Bachelor’s Degree (must be a face to face qualification – online qualifications are not recognised by Qatar).
-Teaching couples must be married as per Qatari work visa requirements.
-Clear criminal record and background check.
-Clear medical history for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Tuberculosis.

Teaching information
Teachers at Qatar Academy are expected to hold an appropriate undergraduate degree, and a proper teaching certification such as a postgraduate diploma, as well as at least two years of teaching experience in a relevant field. Teachers at the schools receive full medical care and housing, as well as proper support in order to aid international travel.
