Senior Electrical Engineer

Job purpose:
  • Takes the ownership of the specific tasks in a project:
  • Technical responsibility of Electrical Design for Onshore/ offshore oil and gas facilities.
  • Performing Design Calculations.
  • Coordination with other disciplines / entities.
  • Developing study reports.
  • Reviewing vendor documents.
  • Reporting lines and interactions:

Profile Must have:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree with 10-15 years of experience in Design and execution of the projects
  • ETAP power system study experience.
  • offshore / onshore facilities.

Need to have:

  • Site Survey / report preparation experience.
  • Gathering design inputs based on field surveys before proceeding with engineering.

Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge in electrical engineering principles, design, and systems.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing complex data and providing actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for effective collaboration.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a positive team environment.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Electrical Design experience in Oil & Gas industries.
  • Preparation of offshore Electrical survey check list.
  • Design for MV and LV power systems.
  • Design for cable tray / earthing / lighting systems.
  • Design and knowledge of ESP Surface Equipment like VDS / Output Transformers / MVD / MV or LV Switchboards / UPS system, etc.
  • Communication / coordination with Lead Engineers / PMs.
  • Meeting quality and safety objectives of the project.
  • Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering.

Introduction to the Job

Key Interactions

Internally: Project Manager, Project Engineering, Procurement, Subcontracting, Construction, Finance and other internal departments as required

Externally: Client, potential partners, subcontractors, and vendors

Job Description
Hierarchically reports to the Head of Cost Control Department and operationally reports to the Lead Cost Control of the Project, you will:

  • Estimates total project cost at completion for complex projects
  • Develops, updates and maintains project budget and forecasting
  • Monitor the project financial performance in a multicultural environment

Main Responsibilities

  • Sets up Cost Control Procedures
  • Sets up Budgets and the specific tools to follow the project costs
  • Implement the in-house digital solutions and their latest enhancements
  • Estimates Total Forecasts, Quantity / Costs and Expected Outcomes
  • Provides support to the Risk Manager to prepare the Quantitative Risk Analysis
  • Approves commitment control and vendor/subcontractors invoice
  • Assists Project Managers in optimizing and improving the budgeted profits
  • Prepares change orders / claims, and follows up
  • Generates monthly internal Project Management Review (PMR) / external status reports (client reports)
  • Develops statistical and close-out reports, with a view towards improving feedback data and estimation tools on future contracts / proposals

About you :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in related field
  • Confirmed experience (ideally 2 years minimum) in Engineering & Construction Industry within project environment is a plus.

  • Establish good relationship and cooperation with colleagues in the project team

Technical Skills:

  • Cost Estimation: Proficiency in estimating total project costs and developing budgets for complex projects.
  • Financial Monitoring: Ability to track and assess project financial performance.
  • Digital Solutions Implementation: Experience with in-house digital tools and enhancements for cost control.

Analytical Skills:

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Statistical Reporting: Ability to develop statistical and close-out reports to improve future estimations.

Project Management Skills:

  • Cost Control Procedures: Experience in establishing cost control procedures and monitoring project costs.
  • Change Order Management: Capability to prepare change orders/claims and follow up effectively.
  • Risk Analysis Support: Provide support in quantitative risk analysis.

Seen as a plus :

  • Digital culture
  • Background in a technical engineering discipline.
  • Other experience in Project Control, such as: Risk Management, Scheduling, Estimating.
